FRONTERA TRAIL STAGE 1 +601 BIS TO +577

We start the stage on the N-260 PK 0 where we can park the car, and we will head towards the coast to return once we complete the +601 bis and +601. La Muga +602, inside the Cova Foradada, deserves a separate chapter. We will pay special attention to finding the +596 which is always a bit difficult due to its location and not being painted, and the +588 due to being on an esplanade with many stones and being on the ground. At Coll Forcat we will take the track that goes down towards Requesens to turn right about 60 meters from the pass, this point is important to keep in mind because we can go down many meters in a short time and go wrong, we arrive at Puig de les Canals on a dirt track, to go towards Mas de les Vinyasses and Coll del Pla de l’Arca where we will easily find the +581, we begin the descent to Perthus collecting mountain passes one after the other until the +577. Otherwise, this stage does not present any more difficulty than the same one that represents the orography of the terrain, and the distance.

Tracing the border from milestone to milestone, at Gas Mountain we have proposed to visit the entirety of the mountain passes with a unique route, FRONTERA TRAIL, and to carry out a route like this where a lot of effort and commitment are required, Ruben Cruz Huertas and Humberto Vila will form a team together with a handful of collaborators to make this impossible possible. We will start the path at Muga +601 (bis), in the opposite direction as far as they can, with a series of routes to make the route as easy as possible for all those who want to participate in this proposal. FRONTERA TRAIL only wants to be a guide for the rest of the walkers and mountain runners who want to go to visit the Mugues with a continuous trail track with the minimum of deviations and following the route of the Spanish-French border as much as possible. The tracks presented have corrections so that users do not have difficulties in doing them, and have been tested by the runner Ruben Cruz Huertas once his design has been completed. All the sections of Frontera Trail have been tested in their entirety, we have corrected the sections where we have had problems, such as total loss of battery, lack of water... or other factors that have affected us when doing them, FRONTERA TRAIL is definitely the impossible made reality. This adventure began in February 2017 with the exploration of the caves, study of routes, and a multitude of excursions to make them possible.
