This route is part of the MDM.cat, the mountain race held since November 2015 and organized by the GAS MOUNTAIN® association.
Its aim is to bring together the best half-marathon mountain runners in competition, although it is not intended to be an exclusively elite event and is open to all types of participants. It takes place within the Alta Garrotxa Protected Natural Area, one of the most important natural areas in the eastern Pre-Pyrenees of Levante. Rich in landscape, wildlife, and cultural heritage, it offers all the necessary services and a wide range of activities, from sports to cultural pursuits.
It consists of four routes: a 4-kilometer Vertical, 12, 21, and 42 kilometers, all starting and finishing in Beuda. The 21-kilometer circuit is included in the Alta Garrotxa Protected Natural Area's Itinerary Trail Network and was marked in 2018 as a route within the network designed for runners. The Alta Garrotxa Consortium has funded the signage for the MDM.cat race route, installing plaques with the course profile, location indicators, information panels, and vertical signage. The entire route is marked with yellow paint and does not include any cross-country sections.
