The spring was originally a small hollow in the rock, on the northern slope of the Can Nofre forest, which is largely spread over the small hill that separates the town from the left bank of the Fluvià river.
At the end of the 19th century, it was protected with a kind of porch made of very well-squared stone joined with mortar, building a rectangular platform in front and benches on the sides for people to rest.
Access to the spring is via a staircase with many steps. The water can be seen falling in drops and trickles from the living rock covered in green moss that, over time, has opened up channels where it flows and converges, collecting in a canyon from which it flows constantly. Below the stream, there is a kind of semicircular sink, with a grate where pitchers or bottles are placed to fill them. The excess water is led, first to a public watering hole for the livestock and then to the town's laundry, which was rebuilt during the Second Republic.
