01About the place
Monumental plane tree next to the fountain and the Can Massot farmhouse, near the village of Darnius, on the road to Maçanet de Cabrenys.
The Generalitat (Catalan government) declared it a monumental tree in 1990: 31 m tall, with a trunk circumference of 4.85 m and a canopy of 25.1 m. It was planted to provide shade and coolness to the farmhouse, and today it also covers the fountain.
