Guarda Cathedral, or Our Lady of Consolation (Guarda, Portugal), was erected by Sancho I of Portugal after he asked Pope Innocent III to transfer the diocese of Egitania to the new city of Guarda.
Nothing remains of the original Romanesque-style construction. However, some vestiges were found that point to a simple building. It belongs to the diocese of Guarda.
