01About the place
The site of a Roman agricultural villa in Viladamat, about 4-5 km from Empúries, was occupied from the mid-2nd century BC and is one of the earliest rural villas in the Empordà region.
In addition to the villa itself, it contains two small family necropolises and a tile kiln. Excavated in the 1980s, the site is now abandoned and overgrown with vegetation, and the remains are barely discernible.
