01About the place
Remains of the castle that overlooks the old town of Llers, in the Alt Empordà region, the head of a network of twelve dependent fortifications.
It preserves a circular tower approximately 12 m high and 11.8 m in diameter within a rectangular enclosure; the Rocabertí family fortified it around 1276, and in 1285 it was captured by French troops during the siege of Girona.
