A stele dedicated to the French general Jacques François Dugommier stands near the summit of Mont-roig, close to the border between Darnius and Biure.
Dugommier died here in November 1794, during the Battle of Roure, struck by a bomb while leading the attack from this mountain. The stele was unveiled on November 19, 2016.
