A small footbridge spans the riverbank of Les Illes, in the hamlet of Les Illes, on the northern slope of the border.
In February 1939, thousands of Republicans passed through here from Coll de Lli; Manuel Azaña stopped at the Hostal dels Trabucaires, about 350 meters away. The "Path of Freedom" passes through Les Illes, connecting it to La Vajol.
