01About the place
Ice well next to the Salt de la Caula waterfall, southeast of Les Escaules (Boadella i les Escaules), beside the Muga River.
It is a vernacular 18th-century construction, circular in plan about ten meters in diameter and covered with a dome, which made use of the ice from the Muga or Caula rivers; studies from 1926 indicated that it was built on an ancient Roman reservoir.
