01About the place
The border peak of the Serra de les Salines, between Maçanet de Cabrenys and Vallespir, is known as Pic de les Salines on the northern side.
It measures approximately 1,331 meters, has a geodetic vertex and radio transmitter antennas, and the Cova dels Trabucaires (Cave of the Gunsmiths) opens onto its northern slope. From the summit, the contrast between the cork oak forests to the south and the beech forests to the north is striking.
