Sant Miquel del Fai is one of the most spectacular and curious places in Catalonia.
It is located on the Bertí cliffs, above the Tenes river valley, in the municipality of Bigues i Riells del Fai (Vallès Oriental). What makes it unique is that the monastery is literally built inside and under a large rock cliff.
What it is like
The place combines a monastery, cliffs, caves and waterfalls.
Main elements:
Romanesque church of Sant Miquel
partially built into the rock.
