A monumental cork oak stands near Can Vinyes and the road from Maçanet de Cabrenys to Darnius, in the Alt Empordà region.
The Catalan government declared it a monumental tree in 2000: it stands 14 meters tall with a trunk circumference of 5.27 meters. It is the thickest and oldest cork oak in Maçanet, a senile tree growing on rocky terrain.
