01About the place

Victims: Heinz Loosli, 47, pilot of the light aircraft, and Bruno Marzec, a Swiss national.

Aircraft: Swiss light aircraft with registration number CH-5632-BUTTWIL, owned by the Eichenberger AG aviation school.

Location: Approximately 620 meters above sea level, in the Verdera mountain range.

Discovery of the accident: A witness reported a loud explosion at around six in the afternoon. The aircraft disappeared from radar and rescue teams found the wreckage that same night.

Result: Both occupants died. One of the bodies was found among the burnt remains and the other about twenty meters from the point of impact.
