01About the place
A natural shelter beneath a large boulder, enclosed with dry stone walls, at the foot of the Fitor crag (586 m) and next to the hermitage of Sant Onofre, on the Palau-saverdera mountain.
It is also called Cova dels Pastors or dels Lladres: tradition says it served as a refuge for shepherds and a hiding place for bandits. The hermitage, at an altitude of about 400 m, was already mentioned in 1362.
