It is the closest fountain to the village of Sant Llorenç de la Muga, located behind the church and overlooking the Muga River.
Its water is sulphurous, hence the name, and was believed to have properties that would cure skin diseases. It features a ceramic basin, an iron hand pump, and a semicircular table with a bench.
