01About the place
A granite menhir located about 2 km northwest of Espolla, in an area of the Albera mountain range rich in megaliths.
Including the buried portion, it measures 3.45 m, one of the largest in the region. It was discovered fallen in 1971 and re-erected on the summer solstice of 1988. The apparent cup marks are bullet impacts: it lies within the Sant Climent military firing range.
