01About the place
Puig Clarà is a small hill just next to Banyoles, it is one of the best viewpoints of the Banyoles Lake.
It is not a high mountain (approximately 315 m), but the position is perfect to see the entire lake from above.
When you reach the top there is:
a stone and wooden lookout tower
a clearing with good views
panoramic of the entire Banyoles Lake
From there you can see very well:
the entire lake
Banyoles
the Pla de l’Estany
and if the air is clear even the Pyrenees.
The climb is short and pleasant:
about 20–30 minutes walking
a path through a forest of oaks and pines
fairly gentle gradient
It is a typical excursion to do in the afternoon or at sunset.
