The Can Galan Refuge (Bassegoda) is the former village school of Bassegoda, now a mountain refuge, in the Alta Garrotxa region (Albanyà).
• Location: at the foot of Puig de Bassegoda, next to the GR 11 hiking trail.
• Atmosphere: rustic, secluded, and very welcoming.
• Amenities: bunk beds, cooking area, and fireplace. Entry is via a coded lock after booking; please bring your own food.
• Highlights: panoramic views and pristine night skies.
It's the perfect place if you're looking to completely disconnect in the heart of the mountains. Reservations must be made through the Centre Excursionista Empordanès (CEE), by phone or on their website.
