A ruined rock castle perched on a granite crag in the Sierra de la Bastida, about 3 km northeast of La Jonquera, from which the passes of Pertús and Panissars were monitored.
First mentioned in 948, it was the seat of the Rocabertí lineage until they acquired Peralada in the mid-13th century.
