The Church of Our Lady of the Hermitage, popularly known as La Ermitana, is a Baroque church built between 1708 and 1714, located right on the Plaza de Armas, at the foot of the castle entrance.
It houses the image of the Virgin of La Ermitana, patron saint of Peñíscola, and is the emotional and religious epicenter of the town's patron saint festivities, famous for their traditional medieval dances.
